COMPTON football sensation Theo Walcott was back in West Berkshire yesterday (Thursday), picking up his new set of wheels. The Arsenal star, who recently scored his first goal for the club, picked up a new Golf from Ridgeway Volkswagen in Newbury. The car was an early birthday present, as Theo turns 18 on March 16. Together with his father Don and girlfriend Melanie Slade, the England international posed for a series of photos before driving off in his new motor.

Mel says she expected Coleen to be lovely, as she's of a similar age - but Rooney's girlfriend simply blanked her.Theo Walcott's girlfriend was catapulted into the limelight last year when Theo was picked for the England squad.

She travelled as one of the WAGS to the World Cup. She describes Victoria Beckham as 'lovely' and Lampard's fiancee Elen Rives as 'a scream', Coleen hasn't fared so well.

Speaking in Reveal magazine, Mel says she expected Coleen to be lovely, as she's of a similar age - but Rooney's girlfriend simply blanked her.

Mel got to meet WAG royalty in Posh Spice who apparently gave her tips on keeping her private life private - and gave her some of her own clothes to wear. The 18-year-old almost came a cropper though when she left Victoria's clothes on the plane!

Mel praised the former Spice Girl as a 'great mum who adores her children'. She also added that Frank Lampard's fiancee Elen, pregnant with his second child, was funny, loud and such a laugh too.
